Review - La Horde
I've said it before and I'll say it again - the French know how to make a great horror film.
A simple set up - four cops go under the radar and raid a criminals hideout...the criminal that just killed their friend, not to arrest him but to exact retribution. Things go askew and cops end up at the mercy of the crims...then the zombies come and the crims and cops form an uneasy alliance to try and get out of the apartment block in one piece.
There is no reason given for zombies, no news broadcasts, just straight out hell when it all breaks out and break out it does as the characters have to deal with it and in a hurry.
A lot of action for a low budget film but it is staged very well and is brutal when needs to be.
Another French notch in the belt for horror films, the French have fast overtaken the Japanese in terms of the amount of quality horror flicks making their way onto a local screen near you.
So if you love zombie films (and let's face it - if you don't there is something wrong with you) you won't go wrong renting La Horde!
