Review - Thor

Thor seems like more a linking setup piece for The Avengers. Unlike Ironman, it doesn't feel like a stand alone film. Not that it is necessarily a bad thing, just that seemed like the film had a weaker story arc than the other Avenger related films.
Thor tells the story of...Thor....No ok the plot of Thor is -
The powerful but arrogant warrior Thor is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard and sent to live amongst humans on Earth, where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders...or something like that.
Much of the action takes place in these realms, between Frost Giants and the Gods and a bunch wonderfully realised worlds. However when Thor is cast to Earth, the film slows down and becomes an episode of 'Thor learns lessons in humility and love'. Which isn't a bad thing as it gives more screen time to both Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings...but I digress.
Chris Hemsworth plays Thor quite well, both physically and with the kind of swagger you'd imagine the god of thunder to have. The film is somewhat stolen by Tom Hiddleston who plays Loki the mischevious and evil brother of Thor. He is quite the villian and owns the screen anytime he is on it.
Thor is quite theatatrical which with Kenneth Branagh helming the film is no great surprise. A decent enough comic book film but not quite the blockbuster.
