Review - Jack and Jill

There are many, many mysteries in life.
Stone Henge, the Pyramids and how the hell Jack and Jill got made.
Its not often that you wish for an engine of Boeing 737 to crash through your house but after watching Adam Sandler's continued and unabated slide into the abyss with his next offering, this cross dressing steaming pile of rubbish, I couldn't help but get excited at the thought.
The plot?...um the bunch of stuff that happens is as follows -
Family guy Jack Sadelstein prepares for the annual event he dreads: the Thanksgiving visit of his twin sister, the needy and passive-aggressive Jill, who then refuses to leave.
And there you have comedy gold if ever I've seen it written out...um no wait its terrible. Sandler plays both Jack and Jill and to be honest I'm not sure which sibling is more annoying.
Sandler playing a woman is exactly as it seems, it looks like Adam Sandler in a dress, maybe that was the joke but like 99 percent of the jokes in the film, it just isn't funny.
An artists rendition of Hell.
Katie Holmes plays Jack's largely silent wife, a role I'm sure she has practised for a while whilst the actual only true laughs come from Jack's son, who in the few lines that he gets manages to actually gets some genuine laughs. Then to really rub it in, Al Pacino has an extended cameo in the film. He doesn't seem care and frankly neither should we.
Comedies are meant to make you laugh, so I'm not sure this film qualifies. Sandler as Jill has the most annoying voice, yet he has used the voice before in many of his films. It wasn't funny then and it isn't funny now.
Now the pay off joke at the end of the film involves Pacino doing an ad, after watching the ad he turns to Sandler and says words to the effect of - "Burn this, no one should ever see this."

I can't help but agree with him, a truly shithouse film.
